Sabdham  is an upcoming Tamil-language horror film written and directed by Arivazhagan Venkatachalam. The film is jointly produced by Siva and S. Banupriya Siva under 7G Films and AAlpha Frames and stars Aadhi Pinisetty and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles.

The film was announced in December 2022, along with its title. Principal photography began the same month in Munnar, followed by schedules in Chennai and Mumbai, and was wrapped up by late September 2023. The film features music composed by S. Thaman, cinematography by Arun Bathmanaban, and editing by V. J. Sabu Joseph.

Cast and Characters

It was announced that Lakshmi Menon would play the lead actress, pairing opposite Aadhi for the first time. Venkatachalam stated, “All I can reveal is that her role will be performance-oriented, something we haven’t witnessed before.” Redin Kingsley was later announced to play a comedic role in the film. Laila was also confirmed as part of the cast, followed by Simran, who was revealed to have an important role as well. Venkatachalam described them as “very professional and cooperative” and added, “As performers, they are single-take artistes who absorb the character’s requirements before shooting and remain fully focused during their scenes.”

Release

Sabdham is scheduled for a theatrical release on 28 February 2025 in Tamil, along with a dubbed Telugu version. The film has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification.
